5 principles to help your MLM business soar

How is your business growing? Is your business growing? Do you realize the gift of your business and you can be unstoppable if you choose to take action?

Think about these principles in the next few weeks. Be accountable to yourself and watch your business grow.

1. People duplicate what they see, not what they hear. This is a business of duplication. So, if you want your team to grow, you must be sponsoring, talking to people and creating a momentum for your team. Yes, this means putting your blinders on really getting down to the nitty gritty. Create a higher personal volume and others will follow.

2. Mindset is everything. Attitude really does determine altitude. Your success depends on your thoughts. Each morning, choose to be positive. You have a choice each and every day how you look at things and your situation. Choose to let go of the negative thoughts and focus on the positive.

3. Don’t get caught up in management mode. New people are the lifeblood of your business. Continue sifting and sorting, sharing and sponsoring.

4. Always do business with integrity. Always be upfront, honest and hold yourself to excellence. Others will see it and will want to do the same. Your actions will be an inspiration to others.

5. Create relationships with your downline, upline and your crossline. Don’t be afraid to reach out when you encounter challenges. Remember, most likely your upline has been there and knows what you are going through. As a strong leader, your organization will reach out to you too. Relationships are the foundation of a soaring business.

Design your future!

Did you know…

1. Google says there are over 25 MILLION people online, right now, searching an online business or an additional source of income. Yep, they are looking for you and your business.
2. Every time there is a Recession, there is a significant increase in start up businesses.

MLM and Attraction Marketing

Attraction marketing is definitely a huge part of network marketing. And I don’t see it changing in the future. I actually see it becoming a bigger part of our industry.

With so much “hype” on the Internet today, people are more and more skeptical about the MLM industry and the people promoting it. So it’s important to market yourself and to help people get to know you better.

More and more people will want to know about you and know that they can trust you. Let’s face it, there is more than one good network marketing company out there. And yes, I believe mine is the best, but it’s important to be able to stand out from the rest.

There are many people looking for you and your business. So, it’s important to position yourself as an expert, so people can find you.

Creating helpful, valuable content is crucial to network marketing success. Giving to others in this industry is so important. After all to have a friend, you must be a friend.

It’s no different in this industry. You must be willing to put others first and willing to help them. As you begin building those relationships and planting those seeds, you will see the harvest.

MLM Goals for the New Year

With the year coming to a close, it’s time to start planning for the next year. Goal setting is an important action in any Network Marketing business. And it’s fun too.

With a new year just around the corner, you have the opportunity to think about new goals, new dreams and new actions. Start by looking at what happened last year. What worked and what didn’t. Toss those things to the side that didn’t work. And incorporate those that did into the new plan.

Share these goals. Share them with your team members. Share them with your mentor. Part of your network marketing success depends on your team. So sharing your long term goals with them will provide inspiration also.

When setting goals, I focus on those I have complete control over. A few examples are - I will talk to two people per day about my business. I will send out 10 information packs per week. I can control these actions. Goals such as I want 10 new team members each month and I will have 5 new customers each month are things I can not completely control. After all, I can’t control who will say “yes.”

I look forward to the New Year and new beginnings

So, what are your goals for the coming year? I’d love to hear them.

Can you motivate your MLM organization?

This is topic that any network marketer should really think about and understand. Really, can you motivate your organization? My simple answer is no, you can’t. Motivation comes within and is something each individual has the power to control.

In my early years of network marketing, I tried to motivate others and pulled many people along with me. Today, that has all changed. I wasted lots of time and energy on people who just weren’t motivated to take action and move forward.

Was it because their why wasn’t strong enough? Maybe or maybe not. Each individual has to answer that for themselves.

Now, even though I believe you can’t motivate others, I do believe you can inspire and empower others. There is a difference.

Inspiration is 'internal.' Inspiration is a way of looking at things in your life or business differently. It gives you the ability to take action and move forward with ease.

And one of the most inspiring actions is to lead by example. Show others how. Don’t’ just talk about it, but show others by taking action yourself.

If you are building a business or an organization of any sort, “inspire” others by doing what you teach.

MLM Pet Peeve

What do you think when you get those emails that promise you to get rich overnight? Or maybe it’s a message left on your answering machine at home. I get an average of three messages per week on my home phone. You know what I do…..delete it. These just aren’t the marketing methods I choose.

Yes, MLM and Network Marketing can bring you freedom and it can change your life. But it can’t happen overnight and it won’t happen without hard work and taking action.

My MLM Pet Peeve is hype. MLM Success is about building relationships and really helping people. Yes, I mean helping others reach their goals, and their dreams. It’s not about giving people empty promises. I prefer shooting it straight from the beginning. Most MLM business’ take at least 3-5 years to develop the success you want. It all comes down to not quitting and not giving up. Sure, you will get frustrated and there will be bumps along the way. But don’t give up. Keep moving forward and success will happen.

Commit to developing yourself and your business will grow as a result. And be honest. Hold yourself accountable. Your leaders will duplicate your actions and how you run your business.

And always remember, it’s not about you, it’s about your prospect and what you can do for them.

Go for NO

Learning to separate yourself from the No’s in your MLM business is so important to success.

It might be “no thanks” to your product, a fundraiser or your business. Remember, it’s not personal and it’s not about YOU.

When you detach yourself from the outcome, it eliminates the rejection.

So many times “no” just simply means not now or I need more information. And knowing what I know about our business, products and team, it couldn’t possibly be about me. So, leave the door open for possibilities down the road.

One of the most important things in this business is to move past the No’s. Remain confident in yourself, your product and your business. Having the right mindset is crucial for success.

Are you willing to hear enough No’s to find just a handful of Yes’. You never know where your next leader or goldmine will be.

MLM Fears

MLM Fears is a big business stopper.

It can really stop a person from moving forward and taking any action at all.
So many people tell me they are scared to talk to prospects. They aren’t sure what to say about their MLM product or MLM business.

There is no perfect script. Develop your “script” around your passion and your reasons for joining your business. And be sure to leave out the hype. And keep your focus on your prospect. Ask questions and really find out their reasons for starting their MLM business.

Spend some time developing your story and practice it with a few people first. And remember every time you talk with a prospect you will develop more and more skills.
Fears are normal. I know I also feared MLM success. As a mother of three small children, did I really have what it took to handle a successful MLM business.?

It’s important to remember as you grow, your business will grow. Involve your children and your family in your business.

What fears do you have? Are they holding you back? I would love to hear your feedback.

MLM Success Tip - Stay in the game

One of the keys to success in this business is to stay in the game. I have signed up distributors who heard about the business from someone else. And when the time came to get started, the person had quit.

What if that person had stayed and signed up that distributor. What if that person would go on to build a goldmine? She will never what might have been.

Success in the business can be frustrating at times. You think you are going to sign this person up and then it doesn’t happen. You are going to follow up with that person and then you can’t reach them.

So many people judge our industry on just a few action steps over a course of a few months. They really miss the longevity and consistency.

As 2008 comes to a close, decide what you really want for 2009. Make a monthly commitment to see it through. Set daily action steps and goals to keep you focused and on track.
I like to put these actions in place for a 90 day cycle. Then, go back and reevaluate. What worked and what didn’t. What should you change or leave the same?

Don’t let anyone or anything knock you down or get in your way. If you get knocked down, get back up and still be standing next year, but be further down the path on your journey.

Success in this business can be yours, be willing to commit and keep your focus and be accountable.

“See” you at the top!

Mindset is crucial to MLM Success

"Whatever your mind can conceive and BELIEVE, it can
achieve!"

Having a positive mindset is critical for your success in life,
and in your business. Ultimately, it will make you or break you in your business.

Most think belief and mindset is such a simple process. But it isn’t always so.

Did you know your energy is fueled by your beliefs? So fuel yourself with positive
thoughts each and every day.

It really is empowering to believe.

Belief is such a simple process......one would think. But so many
people just dismiss it.

It’s important to see success form day one. See it and believe it.
Remain positive and keep negative thoughts from you.

Here are some things that will help you do just that.

Always know that success mean different things to different people.
Not everyone is going to be interested in your business and your products.
And that is okay. Realizing this from the beginning is important. So don’t take it
personally.

Be factual and be fair. Surround yourself with like minded people who support you
and your actions.

If you are having issues with someone, go directly to that person. Take
the higher road. And don’t go chat about it with others. Never be unkind.

Compete only with yourself and never compare yourself with others. Everyone
has different time frames and schedules.

Continually feed your mind with positive thoughts. Commit to reading
a motivational saying or a daily book. Invest in yourself from day one.
You are worth it!

A Simple Network Marketing Success Secret

Many people believe if they buy a certain course or a particular book and read, they will be successful.

And others think if they just join a certain network marketing business, success will happen overnight.

With so many empty promises and hype on the Internet today, it leads people to believe these false principles.

Success is an ongoing process. And it is accomplished by becoming a leader through helping others. It’s a process of attracting wealth through self development.

I spend hundreds of dollars each month on books and courses. Why? Because if I can learn one thing and apply to my business, it makes it worthwhile. It also increases my value to others.

You can’t just read books and hope to create success. You have to take action and apply what you learn. Apply your new knowledge to your business and your personal life. Applied knowledge is power.

Have you ever heard the statement that you'll only make as much
money as the five other people you hang out with most often?

My answer is to cheat your way to the top by reading and learning
from successful people. Read Jan Ruhe, or John Milton Fogg,
or Ann Sieg. (just to name a few) Spend time with your company
leaders whether it's through conference calls or books or whatever.

Feel the success you want. Picture your perfect day. See your success and know it’s just around the corner with continued focus.

Leaders are readers and the learning process never ends.

Have the right mindset. Erase negative thoughts and don't listen
to negativity. Surround yourself with positive, like minded people.

Enjoy your journey. When you are doing something you love, creating success is so much easier.

The Traits of a Successful MLMer

What are the traits of a successful MLMer? Most industry leaders have these traits in common. So, as you read through these, ask yourself, do I possess these qualities?

Passion – Do you love what you do? Do you have a burning desire to really succeed in this industry? Are you raring to go each and every day? If you are truly passionate and excited about your business, other will see it and be attracted to you and your business.

Belief – Do you believe in yourself, your product and your company? Belief in yourself is sometimes the most difficult. Your business growth will depend on your personal growth. So commit to learning, developing into a leader and always feed your mind with positive thoughts. The old saying, Leaders are Readers, is so true.

Committed - Stay committed even when times are frustrating. It will happen. There will be challenges and obstacles to overcome. Know success doesn’t happen overnight. But with a committed focus and action plan, it will happen. Be willing to do what most others won’t.

Integrity and honesty – always be upfront from the beginning. There’s enough hype in our industry. Be a true leader without the hype. Building a relationship based on honesty is the best way to go every time.

Courage – A healthy business and leader can accept the word no. Have the courage to move past it. And remember, it’s not personal. So many times no simply means not yet. Accept it, move forward and be there when your prospect is ready.

Coachable – Leaders are coachable. Be a life long student and learner. Study those that are successful and who have what you want. Duplicate as many actions you can, especially in the beginning. Then as you develop, explore new ideas that fit your personality and niche

A Network Marketing Plan that Rocks

A Network Marketing Plan is essential for a successful Network Marketing business.
One of the first steps to success is to have a plan in place.

Daily, weekly, monthly, short term and long term goals are a must.

Here at some things to think about when designing your MLM plan.

• Is your product simple and easy to explain?
• What and who is your competition?
• Where are going to find your customers?
• Where are you going to find business prospects?
• What type of follow up system do you need in place?
• Where will you advertise?
• Do you have a budget?
• Will you market online, offline or both?
• Do you have upline or a mentor that will hold you accountable?
• What is your Why for developing a home business?

Most people that fail in our industry lack knowledge and planning. Simply, they just don’t have a clue where to start.

So, design a specific plan to help you learn the real nuts and bolts of what it takes to become successful in your business and the Network Marketing industry.

So, how do you go about this? Look to your upline first. Duplicate their actions. Most good mentors will help you design an action plan that is right for you. As a coach and mentor, it’s important to have a variety of ways to work your business.

We are all individuals and it’s a good thing to have choices.
And study other industry leaders. It’s okay to go outside of your organization and look at what others have done and are doing. If you look at the top notch MLMers, each of them have built their business a little differently.

Get on their newsletters, read their books and commit to being a student of the industry.

Have an accountability partner. Share your goals and your action plan with someone. Keep your focus, stay consistent and enjoy your journey.

MLM Regional Events

I recently attended my company’s regional event in Nashville, TN. And the value it brought to me was absolutely priceless. Since I build my business mostly online, it was great opportunity to meet so many people face to face, as well as network with team members.

It’s really great to take the relationship that has been built online to a new level by interacting face to face. Spending time with team members and learning, sharing and having fun together is what being a team is really about.

Attending a company event helps you really know what your company is all about. While I was in Tennessee, one of our company owners sat with us for a big part of the afternoon.. We had lunch together and of course talked about the future of our company. It was so exciting to hear first hand some of the plans for our exciting and growing business.

So, start planning now for your next company’s event. Set yourself a goal. Maybe it’s to have your business pay for your trip. Or maybe it’s to bring 20 or 30 people with you. Whatever they are, know this. You have the tools and resources you need to achieve them. And be sure to work on developing your internal belief and you will achieve everything you want and so much more.

Working with MLM leads

When building a Network Marketing business, it’s important to learn about your prospects and truly understand the process of MLM leads.

How many times have you spoken to a lead and they are extremely interested? But then something happens and POOF. Yes, they have vanished into thin air. You call and leave a message or two and you can not get a hold of them.

Well, more than likely life happens and the timing just isn’t there. Think about the process you went through to get started. I know mine sure wasn’t over night. It’ was a process. I looked at Network Marketing opportunities for one year before I made a decision to move forward.

So, it really is about timing. Don’t take it personally and remember, life does happen and timing is everything.

Get to know your prospects and spend time asking questions and really finding out their why. Remember, it’s all about them, not about you. Spending time building a relationship with your MLM leads will go a long way. It will help you stand out from others they may be speaking with. When you can really find out a person’s wants and their why, you can then show how your business can help. Let them know what they can expect from you as a sponsor. Assure them they won’t be left alone when they join your team.

Follow up and have patience. Have you ever had someone call you day and night practically begging you to join their business? And did you just want to run in the other direction? Don’t be that person. Allow your prospects some space and time to make their decision and to ask questions.

The word “no” usually means not now. So, don’t let it steal your dreams. And when the timing is right, be there.

Remember, building a successful Network Marketing team is a process. Normally, it is a 2-5 year process. So, continue to invest in yourself. Develop yourself into a leader and commit to daily action and consistent steps. You will be glad you did.

With the presidential election just around the country, we are asking ourselves who will be the next leader of our country? Who will be the right choice and who will prove to be the best guide into the future?

As a mom, wife, and a network marketing professional, I feel it is my responsibility to design my future. I'm not relying on the next President, the government or anyone else to secure my journey.

How to build a Network Marketing team

Team stands for Together Everyone Achieves More. As a network marketing coach and trainer, I often here the question, How do you build a Network Marketing team? My answer…..by being a leader.

Building a team begins with leadership. And people aren’t born leaders, they are developed. Leaders are readers and are students of the business. Did you know the average millionaire reads one book per month? If you want to become a master in the network marketing industry do this for one year. If you want to be “the top dog” do it for the next five years. And never stop learning.

Leaders lead each and every day. They are masters of recognition and blaze the way for others. They face and handle confrontation and never lose their vision. It’s okay to lose focus. We all have done it. But never ever lose your vision.

So how do you become a leader? Declare it! Act like it! Commit to personal development. Your business growth will be a direct reflection of your personal growth.

Develop your leadership skills. Learn to communicate effectively and always remember, it’s not about you. It’s about your prospects and your team members.

Commit to your leaders. Let them know you are committed to their success. Be real, be authentic and be passionate. Learn as much about them as possible. Find out about their family, their concerns, their strengths and weaknesses, their goals, their wants and their commitment.

Remember, partnership is a two way street. Make sure they are committed to their success. And let them know you are committed also. Work with those that are working the business and not just talking about it. Build your business in depth. Get to know those leaders that are further down in your organization. Help your leaders develop a business plan and action plan. Participate in conference calls and in meetings.

Be available to your team. Answer the phone and pick up the phone. Be a constant source of information. Always take the higher road and never complain about your upline.

Make a commitment to yourself and to your team. And never, ever quit!

Three reasons your business isn't growing

Why isn’t your business growing? It’s a good question and one most home business owners face at one point or another. So, let’s take a look at the three reasons that could keep your business from growing to the next level.

1. The marketing for your product or service isn’t clear. Your marketing needs clarity. Can you explain in 30 seconds what it is you do? If it’s hard to explain your business, then your potential partner or customer is going to be clueless too. You won’t sell much or anything or recruit others until you can articulate exactly what you can do for potential partners and customers.

2. Your marketing lacks consistency. Do you have a marketing plan? What about a budget? Do you follow up with customers, prospects, and partners? Developing a marketing plan is key. You must have one and daily actions are required.

3. Is your marketing congruent? What about your VIP customer plan? Do you even have one? Does it all fit together? What about your identity? Do you use the same slogans and sayings on all of your pieces of information? What if Nike decided to use “Get up and go for it” on their next advertising campaign. Doesn’t make much sense does it?

How do you build a business online?

That’s a great question and one I get often. How do you start? What is your strategy? What kind of business is best for online? Let’s go through these and answer each of them.

For me, building online is about putting myself out there to be found. It’s about handing someone a business card online vs. offline. It’s about building relationships and friendships that eventually lead to partnerships. I’ve detailed my steps at

http://www.squidoo.com/lisawillard

Feel free to leave your comments and your feedback. If you have any questions, I will answer those too.

Question 2 - What is your strategy?

Business building is about relationships, so I enjoy connecting with others. It’s like going to a party. Just like a party, you have to show up. It’s not about throwing your business on everyone, instead is about getting to know others. One of my favorite methods is social networking. Facebook, Myspace, and Ning are just a few of the social networking communities out there today. Check out my profile at Myspace and let me know what you think. You can get a good idea of how I network online.

http://www.myspace.com/willardbunch

If you have a Myspace page, request me as a friend and mention my blog so I know how you found me. I look forward to connecting with you.

Another method I use is writing about things other than business. I create content around things I’m passionate about……..like my home town or cooking. This is a great opportunity to meet other people. You never know who you will come into contact with.

Visit my lens about my home town. You might just need to come visit.

http://www.squidoo.com/cordell-oklahoma

You may be wondering….How much time should I devote. I believe with 10 hours per week, you can build a solid online presence and team. Staying focused, committed and taking action is key.

What type of a business is a fit with the Internet? This is a question I also hear frequently. Do you really know how to evaluate a business and what to look for? It’s sometimes difficult for people to move beyond the hype. Look for some great tips here.

Magnetic Sponsoring

Are you tired of the old school network marketing techniques? You know the 3 foot rule, hanging flyers, bugging your family and friends, and holding hotel meetings.

Making a list of 100 people is usually one of the first activities you are encouraged to do. When beginning a network marketing business.

And there is nothing wrong with that if this method is how you choose to begin your business. But what about other options? Choices are good. I did write a “business introduction” letter to my family and friends. And to this day, many are still customers. But the fact is, none were interested in the business at all.

So, I knew there had to be a better way to build my business. The more research I did, the more it led me to the Internet and learning how to attract an endless stream of prospects to me.

So, I began to study some of the industry’s leaders and what they did. And that is exactly how I came across Mike Dillard’s Magnetic Sponsoring.

It really changed how I do my business. And the best part, it can help you too.

Watch these videos here and let me know what you think.

What is wrong with Network Marketing?

What is wrong with Network Marketing?

Did that get your attention? I hope so.

My answer - Nothing is wrong with Network Marketing. However, there is plenty wrong with some network marketers. Some don’t tell the truth. Some make empty promises. And some claim you can really get rich over night.

Network Marketing is my career choice and as a professional network marketer, it’s something I take very serious and am very passionate about.

Most people go to college for four years (minimum) to receive a degree to prepare for their future. I know I did. Well, doesn’t it make sense to invest time in your Network Marketing journey also?

Going into Network Marketing I knew I was going to have to study, learn, and be open to learning before I could make a full time income.

Yes, it’s a journey. And one that will have challenges and obstacles along the way.

Network Marketing is an option for anyone looking to commit and stay focused. It won't always be easy. It probably won’t happen quick. But if you commit to pursuing it just like a degree and take it one step further to getting a higher degree, you can have anything you want.

Success in any endeavor does take time and money. The Network Marketing industry isn’t any different. So, know this going into it and tell others the same. My rule of thumb is building a relationship based business without the hype.

Commit to yourself and others. Put your blinders on and take action.

Building your home business on a budget

As a home business owner and coach, I hear the question “How can I build my home business on my budget.” It’s a great question and one that many people need the answer to.

The good news - You can build a business on a budget, even if you have little or no budget. It's important to get the word out quickly to start producing a revenue stream. And once you are, you can begin setting aside a percentage for your business for your advertising, marketing, etc.

Here is my no cost/ low cost suggestions to help you get started.

1. Word of mouth is a great tool. Talk to your friends and family and let them know what you are doing. Ask them for referrals. Lifestyle your business. This means to meet new people as you are going about your daily routine.

2. Hand out Business Cards. Business cards are powerful. Carry them with you always. Stick them in your out going mail. Any time you exchange money, hand them a business card too.

3. Go to trade shows and expos. Trade shows and expos are great events to network. Get to know people, network and begin building relationships with other vendors and with those in attendance.

4. Email signature should be used each time you send an email. Every time you send an email attach a signature that will lead people to your website, blog, etc. People will click on your links and become curious.

5. Watch this video series. There is some great information here. When I first started, I wasn’t’ sure where to start. It gave me some great ideas to begin with.

6. Write articles and press releases. This is such a powerful way to gain exposure and position yourself as an expert in your industry.

7. Join networking groups offline and online. Offline networking groups like chambers of commerce’s are great groups to connect with. You will meet other business oriented people and expand your network of contacts. If you are interested in networking online, there are lots of great social forums available today. The key is to form relationship, don’t pownce your business and company on others.

8. Put a web decal on your car. When driving down the road, people will see your information.

9. Follow up with an auto-responder. An auto-responder is a great tool to have. Design a newsletter, and/or a follow-up series. An auto responder keeps you in front of your prospects for months to follow. Once they opt in, you can provide them valuable information and when the timing is right, they will contact you.

10. Market online. Take your methods online. Get involved in social networks; make a point to meet two new people a day. Build relationships and partnerships will follow.

Three keys to Network Marketing Success

Are you struggling in your network marketing business? If so, you could be missing one of the key factors.

So, what are they? What really leads to network marketing success? Good questions.

First and foremost is your personal development. This goes hand in hand with your belief, mindset and a positive attitude. Is your cup half full or half empty? That might sound a little silly, but we are programmed to be filled with negative thoughts vs. positive. It really does take some reprogramming and learning to have a positive mindset.

Always be developing your mind. Your business growth will reflect your personal growth. Ask your mentor for some reading suggestions. Continually feed your mind.

Next, you must have a marketing plan. There are so many ways to put your business out there. Writing articles, blogging, social content sharing, trade shows, and newspaper ads and social networking. Find out which ones are right for you and take consistent action. Put a plan of action into place. How many people are you going to talk to each day? How many follow up phone calls will you make? Commit to it and make it happen.

As you make contacts you will get new team members. Coaching and training in this business is important. Show your new distributors your “roadmap to success” and keep it simple. Teach them the above two steps and how it can be duplicated again and again.

As a Network Marketing coach and trainer, be willing to teach, train, and support your new partners. Network Marketing is really a fun and exciting business. And the best part, if you are willing to commit you really can achieve wild network marketing success.

To duplicate or not

Does your upline tell you your efforts must be duplicatable? If you can’t duplicate your efforts for 100 people, then you should rethink your strategy. I agree with this statement. Well, at least most of it.

It is important to have parts of your business that can be duplicated by your organization. Duplication is important in any network marketing business, but don’t let it stop you from exploring other options.

I will give you an example. When I began my network marketing career, my children were ages 1, 3 and 9. I had a full time Corporate America job, so I worked 40 plus hours per week.

Now, could I duplicate the efforts of someone who worked their network marketing business full time and didn’t have those time constraints? No, of course not. My time was much more limited. So, I had to find avenues which worked for me. I had to leverage my time. And I had to turn outside of my upline to figure out how to do just that.

Another example. Because I had a good full time income, I had a budget from day one for advertising and marketing. Is that always the case for people who start out? Of course not. Some have a budget, some don’t. There’s a great saying. What you lack in money, make up in time.

As a network marketing coach and trainer, I explored many things. Some worked and some didn’t. But I knew if I was going to be successful, I needed to have a “buffet” of ideas to pass down to my organization. Building on a budget is important, but everyone’s budget is different. And if you are going to succeed as a leader in this industry, you must have ideas that fit.

So, be careful about duplication. Yes, duplicate any areas you can, especially in the beginning. But don’t be scared to explore other ideas and options. When you look at successful MLM leaders, each of them found success, but in different ways.

Three keys to MLM Leadership

As a MLM Leader, you will always have drive and ambition. And probably more so than most of the people in your organization. The old saying, “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink” is so true. Building a MLM organization takes patience.

Some people will take action and some will not. For those who don’t take action, still love them for who they are but spend your time with those that share your take action spirit.

Network within your network. Successful MLM leaders have learned to intervene in their lower levels to ensure their organization keeps growing. When you recruit an energetic and talented leader, do you stop there? You shouldn’t. Begin forming leaders with their leaders. Go out of your way to build relationships further down the chain of command. Work with them and help grow their organization.

Follow up is key. Instead of pressuring your prospect to join you, be available. Refer him to third party resources, such as books, videos, and websites that will bring value, answer questions and reveal the power of the Network Marketing industry. Stay in touch with your prospect. You never know where it will lead or who he will lead you to.

Partner Up! Did you know married couples not only live longer, but also succeed more readily in business? So, what does this mean to you as a network marketer? Partner your people. Yes, a husband/wife team is great. But, many times you have one person on board. Choose a running mate. Everyone needs a running mate, someone to encourage them, counsel them and communicate with them.

Network Marketing and flexibility

In Network marketing, it’s important to remain flexible in the pursuit of your MLM goals. When you have a vision, you know what needs to be done. But often you don’t know how to do it.

So, it’s important to learn from your upline as well as other MLM masters who have what you want. While studying others, it’s important to find your own niche. By this, I mean find what works for you and what doesn’t. Every method may not be for you. But if you remain flexible and focused you will find what does.

By remaining flexible, it allows you to shift directions when necessary. Never lose site of your goals. Always know what you are working for each day. But don’t allow those goals to become so rigid that you can’t make a mid-course correction when needed. Duplicate what you can and pass duplication down to your organization. But remember, each person is different.

Be ready at any time, to make slight adjustments or corrections to keep you on the path to achieving your next goal.

How to take your Blog to the next level

What are your goals with your blog? Are you ready to take it to the next level? If so, here are 10 things to do now.

1. If your blog is about your business. Treat it like that. Promote it. Build it. And deliver unique content.

2. Use a personal voice. There’s know point in blogging if it isn’t written in your words. Keep it useful, but in a personal voice.

3. Keep your blog postings tight. By this I mean, are there extra words? Are there unnecessary words? If so, remove them and make your posts clear and concise.

4. Link to others. Get outside of your competition. Look at what others are doing. Link to them and give your readers other areas of value to explore. They will appreciate you.

5. Vary your posts length. If you write a lengthy post, follow up with one that is brief to avoid reader fatigue.

6. If you are promoting your blog in various places like Twitter or Facebook. Do so by pointing to relevant, helpful information. Don’t just drop your link into the stream of traffic.

7. Use social bookmarking plugins like AddThis or Share This on your blog posts so that people who like your stuff can share it. And have the option to subscribe by email available on your site. More than 50% of my readers do so via email.

8. Make it easy to contact you. Let your reader know how to contact you – via email, a personal website. Don’t make them dig for this information.

9. Mix up your free offers with what your selling. If you are selling something, show it’s value. If it has helped me in my business, I don’t mind promoting it. But make sure it’s valuable and worth promoting.

10. And remember to post with honesty and integrity. If you aren’t, your readers will see through it. Yes, even on the Internet.

How to create an Online Social Media Networking Web

Social Media Marketing and web 2.0 is certainly the rage. But if you are just beginning and you aren’t sure where to start, here are a few tips to get you started.

In my opinion, the first marketing tool you need is a personal website. Company websites are great, but you need a tool that sells YOU. All of your marketing tools will point back to this one specific tool – your personal website.

The next step, get involved in Social Networking Communities. There are many communities to become involved with. Myspace, Facebook, Linkedin, and Ning are some of my favorites. Pick two or three of these. Create a profile and then become an active member that adds value to your community. You don’t have to belong to all of them. The key is to remain focused and consistent. Add to these as time permits.

Next, get involved with Social Content Sharing. Blogging, squidoo, hubpages, and twitter are great examples of social content sharing. Once again, start with one, and as it becomes easier and you get the hang of it, add to it.

Social Video and picture sharing are also very popular today. Youtube and Flickr are both important social video and picture sharing tools. Instead of writing an article, make a video and put in on YouTube. Just like writing an article, your video should share your expertise and create value for your viewer.

Social Bookmarking is a method for Networkers to store, organize, search, and manage bookmarks of web pages on the Internet. What are your favorite websites? Which ones have proved useful to you and your business? Bookmark those and share with your followers. StumpleUpon, Delicious and Digg are my favorite social bookmarking services.

This is a brief overview of the different ways to begin your social media marketing web. Take it piece by piece. And remember, you don’t have to do it all at once. Set yourself a goal and take it day by day and piece by piece.

What is MLM? Does it work? Can you really succeed?

As a Network Marketing Coach and Trainer, these are questions I come across regularly. And if you have given the MLM industry a look, you may be wondering the same thing.

When I began my home business search over three years ago I was very skeptical. There is just so much hype on the Internet, I didn’t know what to believe and what not to.

But everything I looked at kept leading me back to MLM and Network Marketing. I decided I needed to really educate myself and research this industry. I knew I needed to really find out What is MLM? I knew I wanted what MLM could give me. I wanted freedom. I wanted time freedom, financial freedom, and the ability to design my future.

So, what is MLM? MLM stands for Multi Level Marketing. Another term is Network Marketing. MLM is a system of marketing and delivering products or services directly to the end user. Goods or "services" are moved through a network of distributors. It cuts out the middle men and it's an industry that can change your life.

It's fun, rewarding and life changing. So get involved, get committed and take action.

Here’s what else I found.

Commit 3- 5 years to your MLM business.
It takes hard work and focus.
MLM can change your life.
MLM is an earn while your learn industry.
Most start out part time in this industry.
Set your own schedule.
Success is within each of us.
Your success depends on YOU.
Mindset is everything in MLM.
Business growth = personal growth
Everyone you joins MLM has the same opportunity to create success.
Make new friends.
Set your own schedule.

MLM can change your life if you have the desire and the commitment to succeed.

Read more about what is MLM and why this industry may be just what you are looking for at http://www.squidoo.com/teammlm While you are there, leave me a comment and rate my lens. I value your feedback.

How to be a Responsible Network Marketing Sponsor

When someone joins you and your business, what’s the first thing you do?

Hopefully, you pick up the phone and welcome them. So what’s next?
Find out their goals, their dreams and their visions for their new business.
Together, design an action plan to start reaching those goals.

Responsible sponsoring means developing a relationship, a partnership.
And this evolves over time.

It doesn’t mean you build their business for them, but you can empower them
by providing tools, resources, ideas and guidance.

Check in once a week for the first couple of months. Reassure them that you are
there and are available for questions and guidance. This also let them know
what is expected of them as they develop into a leader and a sponsor. And it creates
duplication within your organization.

Some will require more guidance, some will require little. Be flexible and willing to adapt to different people and their needs.

Sponsoring and sharing in their excitement is one of the best things about Network Marketing. So, approach each new distributor with positive energy and help them become wildly successful!

Network Marketing Success

1. In order to have success, you must be willing to do things to create success. Be a successful person from day one. Know that success is within you.

2. Personal growth is vital to your business growth. Be the one that commits to developing yourself and increase your chances of big results.

3. Surround yourself with like-minded people. Many will tell you that Network Marketing is hard or it’s a scam. When people tell you this, is it from their own personal experience? You are talking to someone who has zero experience in Network Marketing or someone who struggled. Just because it was their experience, it doesn’t have to be yours.

4. Your success is up to YOU. It’s not your sponsor’s or uplines responsibility. Yes, if you have the correct sponsor, you should be getting guidance, but ultimately your success is your responsibility.

5. Keep it simple. Network Marketing is about finding a few customers. Finding a few distributors. Helping your distributors do the same.

6. Know there is a pipeline. Know you need to put your business in front of people each day. And the person that joins you today, probably isn’t the person you talked to today. In fact, it’s probably someone you spoke to last week or last month. Understanding this, can help you avoid frustration in the early days.

7. Don’t compare yourself to others. Everyone has different time constraints and challenges. Know what yours are and work around them. Focus on your success, not the challenges.

8. Have fun. If your not having fun in your network marketing business, then you are either in the wrong business or going about it the wrong way. My favorite place to call leads is on my deck in the back yard while watching the kids play.
Show people you are living the life of your dreams.

Internet Marketing - How to Get Started

Internet Marketing. How do you get started?

Using the Internet to grow you MLM business is potentially huge. But, where do you start? Below are a few basic steps to help you get started.

1. Create a Lead Capture Page or take it a step further and develop a personal website. Capture these leads so you can build a prospects list.

2. Begin a marketing campaign. Start with one or two of the common Internet marketing locations. You can begin at Social Marketing sites, message boards, web advertising, etc.

3. Always lead with value. Never pitch or sell.

4. Monetize. Look for ways to generate cash-flow. Offer e-books, affiliate programs, calling scripts or anything that your prospect would want.

5. Keep yourself in front of your prospects By providing value through emails and newsletters, your prospects will look forward to your information. And pick up the phone. Don’t leave the phone out of the equation. The Internet can leverage your time, but it shouldn’t take the place of personal phone contact. And remember, if someone doesn’t join you today, their situation may change in the future. Be the one they turn to.

Train your MLM Team and Keep Them

At some point in any Network Marketing business, you will wake up and say who am I going to talk to today. Knowing how to get your team members through this point in their business is key. It can make the difference between having a successful team where people stay with you for years or having a revolving door downline.

People need alternatives and need unique and creative ways to find fresh prospects. The old cookie cutter methods of inviting people to hotel meetings and getting up to speak to a room full of people isn’t the most appealing method to most people today.

If you get your team thinking about alternative methods, most will start coming up with their own ideas. Remember, not all methods are right for everyone. The key is to find which methods are right for which people. By giving your team a “buffet” of methods you will help them find what is right.

So, here is a great list to start from.

Internet – Use the Internet to make friends. Most important, make friends without an agenda. Network, offer advice and add value. You can do this through message boards, social networking sites, blogging, Ezines, and video marketing to name a few.

Classified Ads – It might be one of the most expensive ways to generate leads, but a well worded ad works.

Direct Mail – Another proven method, but can be costly. An effective marketing letter that is mailed to a good mailing list can be very effective.

Buttons – A method of advertising that hardly costs anything. It might sound a little silly, but it can create curiosity. It could say something like, “I make money using the Internet, do you?”

Car Signs – Your car goes with you everywhere. Even if you work FT, your car can be advertising for you while you work.

Join Clubs and Associations – Join your local chamber, Kiwanis clubs. There is a great opportunity to get to know people and share your story. Once again make friends without an agenda.

Speak at luncheons, seminars. Provide real value to your audience. Make sure it isn’t a camouflaged sales pitch.

Business cards. Keep them with you at all times. You never know where your next customer or partner will come from.

Monthly business meeting – By providing training for your local team members, you can also allow them an opportunity to invite guests. Create excitement within your team.

Trade Shows – Present yourself at a local trade show. If your main focus is to recruit, then let others know you are looking for people in that area. As you create customers in a specific area, you can then hand those over to your new partner(s)

Special discounts and offers – Make your customers feel special. Create a VIP club. Offer special discounts. Say thank you. By creating special relationships with customers, you will also gain business partners.

Product pass around – Have a product you can pass around? Then, do it. Let potential customers/prospects try it first hand FREE. Get their feedback and get them involved. Ask, What do you think?

Once again these are ideas to pass on to your team members. Get their creative juices flowing.

How to build a home business team

Residual income is what attracts most people to building a Network Marketing team. And the most common question I get, is how do you sponsor 8-12 people every month?

The answer is simple. Make friends without an agenda. Make friends to make friends, not to get into your business. Sure, my friends know what I do, in case they are interested or want to refer people to me.

But my business is not what my friendships are based upon. It’s the same for meeting people online or offline. Show a genuine interest. Find out their likes and dislikes, their concerns and challenges. Get to know people without an agenda.

If someone shows an interest in my business then yes, I will proceed. Now, I have the permission to share a little more. I answer their questions and invite them to take a deeper look.

Think about this. If you had a friend that was making $8,000 per month, wouldn’t you want to know about it?

As a Corporate America Employee, how do you find time to build a successful MLM Business

Last night I was interviewed on our company’s team call. As a FT Corporate America employee who is working to change that, many people ask how do you do it? How do you find the time to work FT, be a mom to three young children, a wife and run a successful and growing Network Marketing business?

My answer – Network Marketing is my passion. Lunch hours, breaks, evening hours and weekends are utilized to build my Network Marketing business. I love what I do and keeping focused on the big picture is important. Firing Corporate America gets closer every day. It’s a great feeling to take charge of your life and be in control of your final destination.

It’s important to focus on the success and not the challenges. Everyone in the network marketing industry has time constraints, challenges and even frustrations. But don’t spend your time focusing on the challenges. Take control of the activities you can. How many prospects will you call this week? How many follow ups will you make? How many business cards will you hand out? These activities are controlled by you and taking action each day will get you results.

Network Marketing is a journey. So, enjoy it. Each day, make the commitment to move your business forward. Take action towards your goals. Write them down, believe them, share them and reach them.

Do you Twitter?

Twitter is an online craze that is worth checking out. Meet people with the same interests, personal and business. Share your expertise and learn from others. Treat it like it’s your daily planner.

Here are a few tips to begin “tweeting.”

1. Sign up and follow as many people as you can find who share your common interests and goals.

2. Reply to "tweets" of others by clicking the reply arrow in their tweet box. Get a short conversation going about the topics that interest them. You'll see their Twitter ID with the @ sign in front of it. They will see your replies without already following you.

3. Tweet helpful information. Maybe you just posted a new blog or wrote a new Squidoo lens. Tweet about it. And feel free to “tweet” about personal stuff. Maybe you are at Cancun on the beach checking your email. “Tweet about it.”

4. Network with people that you can help. Provide value and helpful information. Give first and you will receive.

Twitter is fun, easy and it will boost your business.

What are your Single Daily Actions (SDA's)

Do you have a set schedule? Better yet, do you follow it?

Do you have a daily goal of how many prospects you are going to call each day? How many appointments will you make each day? How many people are you going to recruit each week. How many times will you present your opportunity?

Working your Network Marketing Business every day will lead to success.

You are in charge of your SDA’s. Plan your work and then work your plan. Only you can commit to it. Make a specific schedule so you know where your hours are going.

Take action and know that consistently working those SDA’s over and over will have tremendous results.

One of your SDA’s should be how many prospects will I contact today. It might be follow up phone calls, new prospect calls. How many catalogs am I sending out today? It can be various things. Just take action. And have fun!

Your SDA’s all relate to your income goals. Make sure they are aligned. Your goals and actions need to be in balance.

Pay Close Attention to Successful People

Duplicate those that are successful and your business will continue to improve. Being honest and true is the foundation for a successful business. A pure heart is one of the greatest secrets of success. Follow the example of successful people. Choose to be successful. The only people that aren’t successful in Network Marketing are those that quit, or aren’t willing to work hard for their success. Ask questions. Seek out your upline as well as the upline from other companies. Listen to them. What were their methods for success? What about their shortcuts?

Much of success is determined by how you think. So, keep thinking you are a success. Dream big and know those dreams will come true with hard work and persistence. Have fun. Learn from your mistakes. Give to others and remember that you deserve success.

Keep it Simple

Keep your Network Marketing message simple. If you add a bunch of stuff to it, it will slow down your growth. Teaching a basic three-step plan is key.

1. Get a few distributors
2. Get a few customers
3. Help your distributors do the same

That covers it right?

If someone asks you a difficult question, direct the conversation back to the simple message.

If you have a tough time explaining it, your team won’t grow as rapidly. A rule of thumb is, if an 8 year can’t understand it, then others probably can’t either.

So, keep your message simple and don't overexplain.

Beach Money

I just finished reading Beach Money by Jordan Adler. If you haven’t read it, you need to. It’s a great book.

Beach Money means different things to different people. What does it mean to you?

To me, it means freedom. The freedom to not have to worry about personal finances. The freedom to spend time they way you want to spend it. To spend more time with family. To be able to give back to those that have given so much to me.

A Beach Money life is within your reach and anyone can have it. You just have to take action and go after it.

Think about it. Network Marketing is a no experience necessary business. What other business can you earn while you learn?

Low-cost or no risk is involved. What other business can you start with such a small start up cost?

Anyone can start a Network Marketing business. You just have to be willing to work hard and stay focused.

Earn residual income. Work hard for a few years and eventually your income will grow. Residual income is about doing the work once and getting paid over and over.

So, what’ the different between those that have created a Beach Money life and those who haven’t? Those that have, believed they could. They worked hard and held onto that belief until it became a reality.

linear vs. non-linear income

Are you looking for freedom? Time Freedom? Financial Freedom? If your answer is yes, then you must starting focusing on passive, non-linear income. There’s a difference between linear and non-linear income.

Linear income is working 8 hours and getting paid for 8 hours. Non linear is doing the work once and getting paid over and over again. Some people ask me, what did you make in your first month of Network Marketing? My reply, “ I don’t know, I’m still getting paid for month one.”

Think about this. In your current job, position or career, will you be able to work the next five years and then have the choice where you want to work from? It might be the beaches, the mountains, the desert. The choice could be yours if you are building a passive, non-linear income.

It might require you start out part-time. That’s actually how most people start. The most important step is to begin. Take action today. If you are truly interested in creating a life of freedom, focus on an opportunity that allows creating passive, non-linear income.

Are you a carrot, egg, or coffee?

Michael Lemm of http://best-mlm-resources.blogspot.com recently shared this on a forum I network on and I wanted to share it with you.

One of the traits of current television programming is the various series of "reality" shows. While I am not sure how much any of these really depict
the "reality" of anyone except a select few, the trend does raise the question:

Are you in touch with your own reality?

Your reality might be that you are where you want to be in life, and you want more of the same. Or at the other end of the spectrum, your reality might be a severe financial hardship that you do not know how you are going to recover from. Or your reality might be somewhere in between these two extremes.

Whatever your reality is, be aware that it is only human nature to want good things and be comfortable. If you don't have that, then that is what you want. If you already have that, then you want more of that. But the REALITY of the situation is, some say, "what it is is what it is, and you cannot do anything about it".

The problem with that picture of reality is that it is the most blatant LIE on the face of the planet. If you do not like where you are in life, then the power to change that is within your grasp. There are rarely any exceptions to this rule, yet people would have you believe otherwise, perhaps only because they themselves have already long ago given up on the dreams and goals they had in their younger years.

The following is a story which I would like to share with you to further drive home this point:

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.

Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil; without saying a word.

In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me what you see." "Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied.

Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg. Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma.

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity: boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.

"Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?"

Think of this: Which are you? Are you the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do you wilt and become soft and lose your strength? Are you the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did you have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have you become hardened and stiff? Does your shell look the same, but on the inside are you bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?

Or are you like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity?

Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. You can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and learn from them to make your future better.

Your home business is what you make it and is a direct reflection of the amount of time and energy you put into it. Treat it like a hobby, get paid like a hobby. Treat it like a business and you will change your life!

May we all be coffee!

The glue that holds a Network Marketing Team Together

Relationships are the glue that holds a team together. One of the most valuable things you can do for your Network Marketing team is to have fun together. There is nothing better than getting a group of people together that share a common vision and common goals. Revolve those gatherings around fun and you have an equation for success.

Meet for coffee, grab lunch, hold a party for your team, and take an overnight trip. If your team is small, then start small. Have your partners invite guests. The guests might just join your team. Everyone loves a good time and wants to be a part of something fun.

Share stories, tell jokes and laugh. And training doesn’t have to be a part of these gatherings. Having a good time will do just as much for a team as an hour or two of training.

A MLM team that plays together stays together.

Surround yourself with people that support you

I think I was born an entrepreneur. Even as a young child, I was inventing things and always had my own play business. I’ve always been drawn to the idea of creating things, helping others and making money.

But I came to realize quickly that not everyone shares those interests and beliefs. Actually, most don’t. So, it’s important to surround yourself with like-minded people. Entrepreneurs are special people. The world of free enterprise is exciting, but there are many that don’t and will not ever embrace it. And that’s okay.

Find those that do and surround yourself with them. You will find other people that share your interests and ideas and you can learn so much from each other.

Realize that you are different from most. Realizing this was a huge breakthrough for me. Choose to surround yourself with people that support you and your ideas. Gain inspiration from other entrepreneurial spirits. Feed off of each other and know that you are special.

You know what's funny?

Scott Rogers of http://www.ScottRogersConsulting.com recently sent this to me and I wanted to share it.

You know what's funny?

PEOPLE!

Yes, people are funny!

Let me explain.

Have you ever heard of the 80/20 rule?

Well, understanding this principle is critically important
to your success and expectations in the Network Marketing industry.

The fact is, even though most people are well-intentioned; you'll
find that many don't follow through on taking the proper action
to realize their dreams.

No matter what you do or how you do it, or what you say...

Some people who join you in your business will quit.

Most of the people in your downline will not have fantastic
results - even if you 'plug them in'.

Some people who say they will be your biggest business builders,
drop off the face of the earth within 3 months.

Some people who 'say' they will join your business, don't.

Some of your downline organization will be poor producers, but
high maintenance distributors.

Some of your people will think the grass is greener on the other
side - and drop out of your company to pursue the latest 'hot'
new thing.

Some people 'say' they want success, but don't want to put in the
proper consistent action to achieve it - then gripe when they don't
get the results they feel they should get (even when you have
given them access to EFFECTIVE training).

You get my point?!

Besides the lack of effective training - the only other thing that
contributes to people's lack of success; is THEMSELVES!

Did you know that about 20% of your people will produce about 80% of your downline
volume and inc*ome.
Some of your most successful downline members (or affiliates) will
be LOW maintenance, but HIGH production.

Some people will join your business without you even having to
explain much of anything - because they TRUST you.

About 80% of your own income will come from about 20% of your
actual activities.

Some of your people will take your advice and run with it, and
never complain or make excuses.

So, what's my point here??

Well, for one - you CANNOT control what people do or don't do.

Assuming you can, will only frustrate you and cause you to think
like a desperate sales person (which mostly causes failure).

Secondly, instead of trying to depend on every person that gets
involved with you to get the job done - simply go out and be the
BIGGEST producer YOURSELF (getting as many people attracted to
you as possible), then let the cream of the crop rise to the top;
and work with them.

You help everyone by making sure they have the proper education
and training available to them, but baby no one. The serious
ones will take your advice (if you yourself are getting it done),
and will not complain or make excuses - but rather provide proof
in the form of results.

Same in marketing:

Even if your marketing is really good, and you are providing great
relevant content - there will still be people who won't respond
to it.

BUT, don't worry about those people. Do your thing, and help those
who DO respond.

So, make sure you keep your expectations where they need to be; and
go out and be the producer you want YOUR people to be. Then work with
those who follow your lead and who DO the action necessary to get the
job done.

Make a MLM leadership commitment

I just finished reading Jan Ruhe’s book, MLM Nuts and Bolts. It’s a great book and a must read for anyone in the Network Marketing industry. Below are a few things that she says about MLM Leadership Commitment.

Be consistent. Make your decision and see it through.

Be prepared to do what most others in MLM are not. That is get on the telephone, meet with people, continue to improve yourself by attending personal growth and development seminars and conventions, for as long as it takes.

Before you make the commitment, you must be prepared to work.

Determine your level of interest in becoming a leader.

You might need to create the income necessary to commit to investing in your future. The fastest way to create the income, is to sell product and get others to sell product.

Have fun becoming a leader and have more fun watching others become leaders because of your contribution to them.

If you only look to your upline to put programs together for your team, then, of course, you are not the leader.

If you take off the first half of the year, you are not a leader.

If it’s time to make the commitment – just make it.

Make the commitment. Make it to yourself, your successline and your upline leader.

The first two to four weeks in the business are very important. Work very closely with your new recruits to provide the best leadership you can in the beginning.

There is no Get Rich Quick Way.

Search for others that can teach you want you want to learn. Be willing to pay for that knowledge.

You know you are a leader when you begin to recruit. sell, attend trainings, attend personal growth seminars, and begin to sell your successline and upline the books you are reading and audio cassettes you are listening to.

Make a decision - move forward

With so many home business options today, some people find themselves going round and round and wondering what to try first. Yes, there are some business’ to avoid. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. But don’t get caught up in all the hype and just not do anything.

Pick a business that appeals to you. One that sounds fun and that interests you. Quit worrying about this and that and just get started. Not knowing which direction to go first can be overwhelming, but so many will not make a decision and then just absolutely do nothing.

The same goes for marketing methods. There are so many out there. Try 2-3 and put the necessary effort into them. Then add 2-3 more. Become masters and if they aren’t productive move on.

Network Marketing is a great opportunity. One that can better your life. But you have to step out of our comfort zone and move forward. Yes, you will make mistakes along the way. And that is okay. We all do. Make a decision to move forward. Don’t let fear hold you back. Every successful person has had their share of failures. So be one of them.

How much work will it take and it will take how long?

When starting a large project, sometimes it’s best to not know how much time it will really take to complete it. The whole process can be overwhelming at first. But don’t let it be.

Break the task into small pieces. Think about daily actions and baby steps. Set small goals and as you achieve them celebrate.

Rome wasn’t built in a day and success doesn’t happen over night. So, when working on large projects, take in step by step and day by day.

Use Social Networking to build your home business

Social Networking sites are the craze right now. But can you really use them to build your Network Marketing business? Yes, you can. Here are a few things to remember when connecting on Social Networking sites.

Pick 3-5 social networking sites. Learn which ones are right for you and then be focused and stay consistent. Squidoo, Hubpages, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and Linkedin are examples of social networking sites.

Take action daily. In order to be successful in social networking you must be consistent. Take the time to offer quality content and allow others to contact you and leave comments.

It takes time. Remember to be patient. As with any aspect of your business, it won’t happen overnight. Remember to build quality relationships and nurture those along the way.

Make friends. Take the time to get to know them and work your way up to a large number of friends.

Join groups. Contribute to these groups. Bring real value and you will stand out among the rest.

Don’t sell, sell, sell. Instead offer advice, and lend an ear. Be sincere and form friendships.

Always be positive. Be upbeat and never post your mood as angry, mad, sleepy.

Remember, social networking can be used to build your business, if you approach it the right way.

Listening, connecting, meeting needs and building relationships are the skills that produce long-lasting network marketing success. And if you approach MLM any other way, you’re building on quicksand. It is simply essential that you know how to build relationships with people for MLM success and life success.

Ask your prospect questions. And then listen. Ask more questions and then listen some more. Find out what they really want. And be patient. Network Marketing partnerships don’t happen overnight. It’s a process. So nurture it and have fun along the way.

Why a home candle business?

Why should you consider a home candle business? Good question. As a Network Marketing professional, I wasn’t looking for a home candle business in the beginning. After all, I wanted to coach and train others. I was a MLM coach and trainer. But as I furthered my research, here’s what I found.

1. Candles are a $3+billion industry.
2. Candles are affordable and highly consumable.
3. 85% of American homes already burn scented candles
4. We are ahead of the trend. “Go Green” fits right into our industry. Our
alternative vegetable wax candle burns 95% soot free.
5. Candles are consistently in the top 5 list for gift choices
6. Candles are a simple product. There’s not much explanation involved.
7. Our industry has 6 major competitors. And we are leading the way
with our "natural" candle.

What? Your business requires a monthly autoship?

Most Network Marketing companies require a monthly autoship or some type of monthly commitment. When you are recruiting, and someone tells you they just can’t afford the monthly commitment, what should your response be?

I will give you an example. My company requires a $39.95 autoship per month. With tax included it’s about $44 per month. Now, like most businesses, I am receiving some product, a company website and some other perks with this autoship each month. In my opinion, it’s much more valuable than the $44.

If someone tells me they just can’t afford the monthly commitment, this is my response. “I’m a little confused Jane. Are you looking for a business or to just purchase products now and then?” This is a business, and if you are committed to it and work it as such, you will make much more than $44 per month. What income level are you wanting to make each month?

Or

Jane, think about this. Most people go to a job for 8 hours each day to pay the bills. What if you worked this business eight hours per day? I’ve made several hundred dollars in one day many times just retailing our product.” And that took just a few hours.”

Now, if someone just absolutely doesn’t believe a monthly autoship will work for them. I usually just leave it alone. Their focus is on the $50 vs. I can do this. I can build this business and I can make it work. The mindset just isn’t there and the timing probably isn’t right for them to get started.

Success in the network marketing comes down to solid, ongoing MLM training. Network Marketing is a business that is about helping others. But in order to help others, you must work on yourself in the process.

Residual Income - what is it and why do you need it?

Residual income is making continuous money from doing something once. Residual income has been around a long time, but its popularity has grown with the Internet. It can used to supplement a full time income or it can eventually replace a full time income and beyond.

It takes time and hard work to build residual income. With so much hype and empty promises on the Internet today, some believe residual income can happen immediately. It just doesn’t work that way. It’s about doing the same thing over and over in order to earn money. It’s about doing something once and getting paid for it again and again.

The internet it an amazing tool and must be used to its full potential to be successful. The internet is full of endless possibilities. Learn to take advantage of it. Take advantage of search engines. Learn how to be at the top of them. Learn how to automate your follow up process. It’s a tool that works 24/7, learn how to use it and maximize your profits.

Learn to build multiple streams of income. Multiple streams of income is basically having more than one business. My income streams all point to my primary business. If you learn to monetize your marketing efforts, you can invest more in your business and see it grow quicker. And multiple income streams equal stability.

Be sure to do your research. Look at the background of the company. Is the company financially stable? Do the owners have network marketing backgrounds? Does the compensation plan allow you to build a passive, residual income? Check out the company and make sure it’s here to stay.

Live with Passion!

Mary Kay Ash was loved by her people. She was the Founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics, and passed away not long ago at 83 years old. I heard her speak about 20 years ago, and at the end of her speech she was asked, "What is the key to success in business?"

She didn't hesitate when she said, "Make your people feel important." She truly understood that recognition is a need we all crave. There are no exceptions.

Marcy Blochowiak understands this powerful principle as much as any leader I've ever met. And, most importantly...it comes from her heart. She has built a team of thousands by using a secret weapon: "Hire more women, and love them like family."

In her beautiful book, No Glass Ceiling, Just Blue Sky, Marcy shares her story about leaving a secure job as a flight attendant to become an entrepreneur. She lays her heart on the line when she tells about overcoming fears and doubts to build a highly successful organization. She offers valuable insights on life balance, the power of choice, respecting others and removing the chains that bind you.

In the time I've spent with Marcy and members of her team I could feel the love and respect they had for each other. She truly understands the power of kindness and compassion. She understands that companies don't succeed...people do.

Today, I'd like to share a brief excerpt from Marcy's book. Enjoy and share it with friends and family.

Learn time management

Time management is SELF-Management. All of us have the same 24 hours. We each have to decide what to do with it.

Become a manager of moments so you have more time in the rest of your life to enjoy yourself, your family and your friends.

Can you develop bad time management skills? Absolutely. Have clarity in your dreams and goals. Do not allow procrastination to set it. Keep focused and clear on what you want and what your goals are. Then go after them as if your life depends on it. Because in reality, it probably does.

Get control of your time and just don’t waste it. Turn off the T.V. Stop chatting about nothing, spend time in self development and study those that you want to be like.

Learn to control your thoughts and better yet, learn how to stop negative ones. Self development, self development and more self development is key. When you want something bad enough, you will use your time wisely and go for it. Be a teacher of what is possible and take the time to go after your dreams.

A prospecting tip that works

When your potential business partner is talking about their present situation and how they would like to change, help them imagine what it would be like to have what they want.

Ask this simple question. How would it change your life to have what you want? Imagine how your life would be.

Success lies within each of us. You just need the courage and determination to pursue it.

Focus on what the change will do for your potential partner and help them feel and see that success. Connect on the feeling level vs. the logical level.

One of the first activities I have my new partners do is describe their perfect day.

What would the perfect day be for you?

Don't waste your time with Internet Marketing

My friend, Michael Lemm with Freedom Fire Communications recommends the following powerful headline ideas.

Headlines are everything.....

Do you want your POST read? Do you want your article clicked on and read? Do you want your e-mail opened?

You better have a great headline ....

Here are some ideas to get your juices flowing and come up with headlines that fit "your" target:

[This info is from Michael Fortin, the Copy Doctor, awesome resource for anything “copy” related. Here he uses the power of emotion to draw readers in.....]

Curiosity - (”Revealed! Closely Guarded Secrets For …”)

Mystery - (”The Five Biggest Mistakes to Avoid By …”)

Fear - (”Over 98.4% of People End up Broke When …”)

Pain - (”Suffering From Needless Back Pain? Then …”)

Convenience - (”How to Increase Your Chances With …”)

Envy - (”How Fellow Marketer Pummels Competitors By …”)

Jealousy - (”They All Laughed When … Until I …”)

Sloth - (”Slash Your Learning Curve By 57% When …”)

Love, Lust - (”Make Her Fall in Love With You With …”)

Shock - (”Finally Exposed! Get The Dirty Truth On …”)

Greed - (”Boost Your Income By More Than 317% When …”)

Pride, Power, Ego - (”Make Fellow Workers Squirm With …”)

Assurance - (”… In Less Than 60 Days, Guaranteed!”)

Immortality - (”Reverse The Aging Process With …”)

Anger - (”Banks Are Ripping You Off! Here’s Why”)

Simply follow the thought process above .... fit an emotion with wording that captures that "feeling" in a way you're comfortable with. Don't forget to track and test your results too. You can always adjust the words a bit ... and target audience .... to better illicit the "reaction" you're looking for.
