There is no plan B

There is no plan B

This is an amazing word of advice from Mitch Hayes of The Home Business Answer. Take his message to hear and it will make a difference in your MLM success.

I was having a discussion a while back with another, very successful, member of my organization, his name is Martin. We were talking about motivation, selling out, doing whatever is necessary to succeed in this industry. I asked him what had made him so very successful and his reply almost bowled me over in it's simplicity, yet it was such a powerful motivator that it became a defining moment in my MLM career, in my life, even. He said "Mitch, there is no Plan B." What power, what insight was contained in those simple words. He's right, you know. For me, for many of us in this industry, the industry, MLM, is our one shot at creating a secure financial future. For whatever reason, lack of planning, calamity, sickness, poor financial decisions, we have no other means with which to build enough wealth to retire securely and comfortably.

At that moment, the epiphany that exploded in my mind defined me and set me upon a course not unlike Cortez when he came to the "New World." He commanded his troops to "burn the ships." Why? It left them with no "Plan B." They were sold out! They were committed! They had to be, there was no going back. For me, there is no going back. There are not enough years nor is there enough strength left in this 54 year old body to do it the old fashioned way, invest, save, etc. My personal situation is not unlike many of you, i imagine. Life has dealt me enough curves, some of which I dealt myself, I might add, that I have no savings, no investments, not enough in retirement, pension plans, to survive on, let alone live the "good life." And I don't want to wind up a Wal Mart greeter, or bag boy in some grocery store at 65 years of age. Not even!

No, this is it for me. It is my one and only plan, my one and only course of action, my one and only means with which to secure my financial independence and freedom. This is a major componant of my "why." If this doesn't work for me, nothing will. So it's "damn the torpedos and full speed ahead!" It's sell out, give my all, whatever it takes, i will do, because there is No "Plan B." Sure I want to get completely out of debt. Sure, I was tired of living paycheck to paycheck. Sure, I want to have a legacy to leave my kids, when I am gone. But those motivators, powerful as they can be, pale in comparrison to the realization that, the ships are burned, the old world is an ocean away, my future is in my hands, no one else's. It's succeed or else. I'm not being melodramatic here, it's the absolute truth.

Fortunately for me, and for many of you in the same boat, oh, I forgot they were burned, just kidding. As I was saying, fortunately for all of us, MLM is a great industry! We truly are in control of our own destiny, or own financial security, our own financial future.

I'm thankful that there is no "Plan B." If there were, I would have been tempted to give up, quit, because contrary to what many people believe, this industry is not easy.

It's simple, unbelievably and amazingly simple, but it's not easy. It requires resolve, a thick skin, determination, commitment. It requires a strong enough "why!"

What do you look for in a Network Marketing Company?

What do you look for in a Network Marketing Company?

Here are things to consider when looking for a Network Marketing company.

1. Is the business model all about recruit, recruit, recruit. Your business model should give you flexibility. Retailing and team building should both be options. Team building equals residual income and that is definitely where the money is. But companies should give you options. After all, team building takes time and a budget. Use a portion of your retail sales to fund your team building activities.

2. Does your company management have experience? Do they understand what it takes to build a business from home? Do they care about the distributors? Or do they care about just making money?

3. Do you have value priced products? Can the average person afford your products. If so, great. If not, you need to reevaluate. You need products that are affordable. If you don’t, you will be in the convincing business, which isn’t much fun.

4) Did you read your policy and procedures? What are the policies on having a personal website, internet network marketing? If you know you want to build a business using the Internet, you must check out their rules and regulations. Is the policy and procedure section 20, 30 pages long? If so, why? It shouldn’t be.

5) How many people does it take for you to make $10k in residual income. Some companies need 10,000, 8,000 4000, or even 2,500 distributors to make $10k per month. So, do your research and find out the numbers.

These are a few ideas to help you begin your search and some of the most important.

Focus on High Value Activity

Focus on High Value Activity

Here's a great tip from Ann Sieg herself ..... originator of The Renegade Network Marketer .........

Can you afford NOT to do this?

No matter what stage you're at in your business, when you're trying to breakthrough to the next level, it's essential that you not only spend your time efficiently, but also that you only spend it on HIGH-VALUE activities.

This concept that I want to share with you is one of the most important I've ever learned for achieving massive productivity and making quantum leaps forward in your business (in much less time than it takes most people), and, like me, you may just find yourself using this as "the ultimate measuring stick" for nearly every decision you make about how to spend your time.

It's SO important in fact, that Warren Buffet - the world's richest and most successful investor - has said that he considers this one factor above ALL others when deciding how to invest his money.

Any guess as to what it is?

Strength of the company?

Price of the stock?

High profit margins?

ROI (Return On Investment)?

Nope.

According to Warren Buffet, none of these, not even ROI, is the most important thing to consider when making an investment.

What is?

----------------
OPPORTUNITY COST
----------------

What does that mean and how does it apply to us?

Well, opportunity cost means: What else could you be doing with that money?

What other, possibly more important, opportunities are being missed (the cost) because your resources are tied up with another investment?

This same concept of opportunity cost applies to time and energy because whenever you spend your time on something, you're making an investment.

And if there's one thing you'll find that all highly successful marketers or business owners have in common, it's that...

-----------------------------------
THEY ALL VALUE THEIR TIME MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE
-----------------------------------

When most people think of "assets," things like real estate, precious metals, bonds and stock portfolios come to mind. Time is usually left completely out of the picture.

But the truth is, time is more valuable than all of these and smart business owners are more careful and selective about how they spend this asset than anything else!

Why?

Because it's the ONE thing you can't get any more of.

Unlike money and other "physical" assets which can literally be had in any quantity once you learn HOW to invest your time and WHAT to invest it in.

Now the reason this idea of "opportunity cost" is so significant is because when you choose to do something, by default, that means you choose NOT to do something else.

And if the stuff that you choose to do falls under the category of low value activities, you've got a serious problem.

Not only is your time being spent on things that do little or nothing to advance your business, but it also means you have that much LESS time to spend on the things that do.

This is what keeps people in the rat race.

Have you ever had a day where you literally did 2,001 things and yet when you looked back on it, you had absolutely no idea what you got done?

This is called being busy without being productive and its a result of not knowing what the core money-making activities of your business are.

If this hits a nerve with you, don't worry...

---------------------------
I HAVE A CONFESSION TO MAKE
---------------------------

I'm probably more guilty of this than anyone!

I think I'm more prone to getting distracted and taken off course by little projects and detours than anyone I know and it's something I constantly struggle with.

Certain family members and close friends havem even referred to this natural "handicap" of mine as "squirrel in the road syndrome."

Very flattering.

However, it just goes to show that if I can succeed in spite of it, so can you.

Here's a great tip for you I learned that virtually guarantees every single day you have is highly productive:

Always take care of the high value activities FIRST THING every day - or as close to first thing as you can get - no matter what.

That way, regardless of what else you do after that, it's already been a good day.

If you don't take care of the most important things right off the bat... life will get in the way.

Guaranteed.

The world will conspire to throw a wrench in your spokes and keep you from getting ahead.

The dishwasher will break down... the dog will get sick... a friend you haven't seen in five years will be in town... the post office is going to close in thirty minutes... and before you know it, the day is gone.

Due to the inherent craziness of life, it's inevitable that some things aren't going to get done.

It's your job to make sure that when you do run out of time in the day, the core money-making activities are not on the list of things that got pushed off until
tomorrow.

Okay, so what ARE the high value activities you should be focused on?

Here's how I've broken things down for my business ..........

Zero/Negative Value Activities
------------------------------

* Worry

* Figuring out excuses/"reasons" why something won't work

* Idle chatter

* Surfing the internet

* Checking email (did you know they've done studies and have found that the impulsive, never-ending cycle of checking emails/ messages/etc is an addiction similar to doing cocaine? It's true)

* Instant messaging

Low Value Activities
--------------------

* Prospecting

* Cold-calling

* Attending "same old" company trainings and meetings that are little more than social events

* Team call, after team call, after team call... (these kind of meetings can be high value, but can also very easily be overdone and give you a false sense of progress)

* Errands for business

* Repetitive/Administrative work

High Value Activities
---------------------

* Positioning yourself so that people seek you out

* Setting up sales and marketing systems that automate the grunt work for you and weed out all but the best prospects

* Setting up automated follow up systems that build relationships with prospects and customers

* Developing relationships with mentors and people you can learn from

* Studying copywriting and direct response marketing

You'll notice I have prospecting under low value activities. Why?

The reason is because prospecting is one of - if not THE most un-leveraged methods for acquiring new customers/business builders there is.

When your entire marketing process is dependent on you physically approaching someone or calling them on the phone, your results are strictly limited to the amount of hours you can put in - just like working a job.

If you talked to people non-stop (assuming you don't run out of people to talk to) and you're REALLY lucky, you might be able to book one appointment a day, which is roughly 30 a month.

However, if you take weekends and holidays off, you're probably looking at a number closer to 20. This comes out to about 240 a year.

Maybe.

And all these appointments are is showing your opportunity/product to someone who reluctantly agreed to meet with you.

These aren't even people who raised their hand and asked for information themselves.

However...

When you combine copywriting with direct response marketing, you can attract thousands of qualified prospects through virtually any type of media...

- Internet

- T.V.

- Radio

- Mail

- Newspapers

- Magazines

- E-mail

...in the same amount of time it takes to physically approach one UNqualified one!

And perhaps best of all, these other methods for getting your message across to someone don't require you to personally be there in order for them to continue to work for you.

Imagine getting more prospecting done while you sleep than you previously could all year doing it one at a time!

It's easy to see why some people make $60,000/mo in network marketing... and some people make $60/mo.

Learning how to do this type of marketing ("selling long distance") is, without a doubt, the highest use of your time.

But please don't take my word for it .....

----------------------------------

In Dan Kennedy's 'No B.S. Time Management' book he says"

"If you're looking for the answer that turns your time into the most money and wealth possible, then turn your attention to marketing.

Get free of as many other parts of your business as you can, get passionately interested in and good at marketing, and invest your time there...

Marketing is the highest paid profession and MOST VALUABLE PART of a business. The person who can create systems for acquiring customers, clients, or patients effectively and profitably is the "money person." He is the equivalent of a "high impact" or "franchise" player in sports."

----------------------------------

I personally followed this advice to a T.

I developed myself and became a true master at marketing and salesmanship by studying a plethora of real-world, marketing and copywriting geniuses (both past and present). I literally "dove in" and completely immersed myself in the wisdom each
one offered.

And let me tell you...

---------------------------------
IT WAS THE BEST INVESTMENT I EVER MADE!
---------------------------------

Here's just a short list of the people I've studied over the years that specifically teach the kind of marketing you need to know:

- John Reese (Traffic Secrets - no longer available, soon to be Traffic Secrets 2.0)

- Clayton Makepeace (The Total Package)

- Dan Kennedy (Ultimate Sales Letter, Ultimate Marketing Plan, No B.S. Time Management)

- Seth Godin (Permission Marketing)

- Frank Rumbauskas (Selling Sucks, Never Cold Call Again)

- Mark Joyner (The Irrestible Offer, Simpleology)

- John Carlton (Marketing Rebel Rant)

- Vincent James (12 Month Millionaire)

Yes, it took some time to wrap my brain around everything... but when I started practicing what I'd learned, I began to effortlessly attract floods of fanatical, cash-in-fist customers.

In fact, on more than a few occasions, people have actually come by my house and knocked on my front door asking me about my business. Complete strangers, eager to find out what I'm doing. (To be honest, this was a little weird the first couple times it happened, but it just goes to show the power of attracting people to you).

Just remember, anytime you're looking at a given task for your business, always ask yourself, what else could I be doing with my time?

Are there other activities that will help me get ahead faster?

And most importantly, what will happen if I DON'T do those activities?

What is your Network Marketing Coach teaching you?

Do you have the right Network Marketing Coach?

Having the right Network Marketing Coach and Trainer is so important. Your MLM success really depends on it.

What should your business coach teach you?

The answer to this question can help you achieve success. Or you can waste tons of time, energy and money.

In my opinion, these teachings are valuable and are the difference between success and failure.

Ask yourself these questions.

Are you prospecting everyone within three feet of you or are you learning how to marketing and attract qualified leads to you?

Are you staying plugged in to company training and events? Are you focused on the true income producing activities? Do you target your niche?

Are you learning how to quality or disqualify your prospects through marketing or are you learning how to overcome objections? There’s a difference.

Are you equipped with the knowledge to become an independent leader and marketer? You must be able to train your own team.

Do you know how to monetize your marketing? Do you know how to create multiple streams of income? Or is the one check you receive from your company the only revenue stream?

Is the majority of your time spent with qualified prospects or do you spend most of your time trying to find qualified prospects and convincing them to join?

Do you have an internet presence? Is your target market finding you online?

If you have answered no to any of these questions, I encourage you to change that. The good news - You are not alone. I was once here too. But I decided to stop spinning my wheels and take action. You can learn these too.

The best part, your network marketing journey will be much more fun and profitable. If I can help you become more effective and make this business easier, let me know.

I value you and your feedback.

Work smarter vs. harder

Learn to work smarter vs. harder

The first thing to do is prioritize. Spend time on activities that directly affect your bottom line.

There are a lot of activities that go into building a network
marketing business!

- Writing ads

- Placing ads

- Creating capture pages

- Calling leads

- Interviewing leads

- Contact management

- Scheduling follow ups

- 3-way calls with downline

- Mailing information

- Follow up calls

- Processing new orders and applications

- New distributor training and orientation

Now look at these activities. Which ones make you money?

Look through all of the activities above and ask yourself the following
question:

Your guess it!

Processing customer orders and distributor applications.

It’s the only activity that makes you money, so it's the one activity
that should dominate your business building time.

If you only had two hours per day to build a business, how much money
would you be making if you spent all two hours processing new applications
and taking orders?

Now in order to take orders and build a downline consistently, three things
Need to be focused on.

1. Build a pipeline of prospects whom you consistently contact
over time. Contact them personally and then automate the follow up process.
This leverages your time.

2: You must build a relationship with those prospects. And you can do this
through technology such as an auto-responder and video.

3: You must effectively market your goods and services to those prospects,
and then sales are made and income is produced.

Build your downline using Autoresponders

Build your downline using Autoresponders

Marketing your products and you is very important in Network Marketing. One of the most powerful ways of marketing on the web is using autoresponders.

An Autoresponder is a very important tool in any online business. It helps manage follow ups and assists you in building a relationship. It's also great for time management becasue it allows you to concentrate on lead generation and driving traffic to your website.

Your messages should be queued at intervals of 2 to 3 times per week and deliver high quality and valuable information to your subscribers. This allows you to gain trust and begins the relationship building process.

Your messages should be built around value and solutions, not sales pitches. Sales pitches over and over will defeat the purpose and end up ruining the entire process.

My pick for an autoresponder system is Aweber.

Do your prospects know what to expect from you?

Do your prospects know what to expect from you?

It's important in any network marketing relationship, for your prospects to know what to expect from you.

Questions that need to be answered are:

What can I expect from you as a partner?

When will I hear from you once I sign up?

What type of training is available?

The first question you should ask is - "Cindy, do you want to know what will happen when you sign up with our company?"

Cindy says yes) "Great! You'll receive a welcome email from our corporate office with company ID and details for accessing the back office of your site.

You'll also receive a welcome email from me along with your First Steps to Success outline and the Roadmap to Success.

These documents will get you access to our team training site and discussion group. And, you'll know exactly what to do first to get your business started the right way.

I would like to schedule a phone call within 48 hours to go over this information, answer your questions and put together an action plan that is desiged for you.

From there, we'll be working together to get your business going. How does that sound? Any questions?"

You have now taken your relationship one step further. Your potential partner knows what to expect in the beginning and more of what they can expect from you as a partner.

Make money with Squidoo and monetize your marketing

Monetize your Marketing with Squidoo or just earn money with Squidoo!

What is Squidoo? Squidoo was founded by Seth Godin, well-known author and marketing guru. It is a free Internet platform that allows people (lensmasters) to write about topics they enjoy and make money in the process. If that is not enough, it is fun, too! Warning – creating lenses (pages) is addicting.

And the best part, Squidoo and it's lensmasters contribute thousands of dollars annually to various charities. Isn't that great?

Squidoo makes money from ads and affiliate links.Squidoo gives 5% of what they earn, right off the top, to charity. They keep 45% to cover overhead and stuff. That leaves 50%. That goes to charity or to the people who build the pages. And they leave it up to you to choose one or the other. It's that simple. You can earn a dollar, a nickel or a dime at a time for your favorite cause or for you.

Did I mention that Squidoo is free? Always has been.

"It's a simple wayto present information on a topic you care a lot about."

My best advice.Create yours lenses around a niche. It’s important to write about topic you enjoy and have knowledge about. My first two lens are about my primary business. My goal – monetize my marketing efforts. And it has worked.

Sure, you can create a lens around other topics. My next one is either about cooking healthy or fitness tips. Can’t make up my mind, so I might just do both.

You can also register with affiliate sites and import product links directly to your Squidoo lenses.
I use Shareasale in addition to the Squidoo money making modules (eBay, Amazon & Cafepress). It is a nice way to earn even more money from your Squidoo lenses.

Are you ready to get started? Don’t wait – make a lens today!

Create an income with Google Adsense

Have you ever heard of Google adsense?

Let’s take a look at what Google adsense is.

Merchants place their ads in Google, which is one of the most popular search engines or tools for locating information in the World Wide Web. Google AdSense allows you to display these ads in your website and when your visitors click through them, you earn. The advertiser, which is the merchant pays Google for every click-through made by the customer and you as a partner of Google, gets a share from that payment.

A theme based information site is great for good Adsense. What’s great about the Google AdSense is that the ads are relevant to the content of your web page. Most likely, visitors of your web site are interested on the theme of your site and specifically, on the content of your web page. So, seeing ads related to their interest would definitely drive them to click through the link or the ad. Using state-of-the-art technology, Google scans your web site and matches the content of your pages to their large database of advertisers

Having Google ads in your website is also a way of convincing your users to return to your site. Repeat customers multiply your income without having to exert extra effort to convince them again to click through your links.

Becoming an AdSense affiliate marketer is easy and fast. You just have to apply online and once your application is approved, you can instantly set up Google ads in your site. All you need to do is copy and paste some codes in your web pages and in no time the ads will appear in your site.

Keep your content real online and you will see results.

3 things to attract customers and prospects

To attract customers and prospects you must have the following three things.

1. Point of attraction - You must have a personal website or at the very least a splash or capture page. This is where the prospect finds you on the Internet from content you've created or from the social networking sites you've visited.

2. Permission to contact - Your propsects fill out your capture page or your e-newsletter and are now on your "list." Your prospect has given you permission to contact them.

The third step is the most vital. You now have your prospects attention. You want to keep it. Pay attention, this last step is what will increase your business.

3. Bring Value. The key to marketing is bringing low cost or no cost value to your potential customers and prospects. Give them helpful information, tips and ideas. Set yourself apart from others. Build relationships. A no hype style marketing full of value will make you unique.

4 characteristics of successful Network Marketers

Since I've been in Network Marketing, I've realized that successful people have several things in common. Success in Network Marketing equals these 4 characteristics.

1. Successful Network Marketers have a why. There is a strong reason why they began their business. And it's necessary to visit that reason and keep it in front of you always.

2. They are a product of the product. Network Marketers use their products or services and are knowledgeable about them.

3. They never gave up. All successful Network Marketers didn't quit. They gave it enough time to develop success. It doesn't happen over night.

4. Leaders are learners. Self development and consistently learning is key. You can't develop a business if you don't develop yourself.

Here's to your success!
